City fireworks display set at DBAP on July 4
DURHAM -- Celebrate patriotism and civic pride with a baseball game, music, an awards presentation and fireworks at Durham's Independence Day festivities on July 4th. This event will take place rain or shine.
The action starts at 4 p.m. and continues until 8 p.m. with an Independence Day concert on the Lawn at American Tobacco featuring renowned regional talents such as the Bethesda Bluegrass Band, Triple Fret and Mandolin Orange. The concert is sponsored by American Tobacco and FOX 50.
The Durham Bulls vs. Gwinnett Braves game begins at 7:05 p.m. -- Gates open at 6:05 p.m. Tickets are required. Visit www.durhambulls.com to purchase tickets in advance.
The gates to the Durham Bulls Athletic Park open for free admission at the end of seventh inning. Immediately following the game, there will be remarks from elected officials. Also, "It's Cool to Care Awards" will be given, as well as the presentation of the colors, national anthem and fireworks. Times are dependent on the actual end time of the baseball game.
